9/12: A Smidgeon of Continuity

Phew... been awhile sincie I've done a long post. Its also the first time I've actually gotten a Gray Matters done ahead of time. Who knew that playing World of Warcraft with a strictly scheduled guild would actually kick me in the pants enough to start making gm's ahead of time?

It also just so happens that I managed to pick up a few more webcomics. I've been reading Irregular Webcomic for a couple of months now. Quite a loooong archive. The stories are alright and extremely punny, but the entertaining part is that P.D Magnus has about seven different storylines in counting. (since i'm still only 3/4ths through the archive he may have yet added more).

Meanwhile, Freefall is pretty entertaining. Nothing spectacular, but i'm still reading it. That's an automatic point in my book.

But the real comic I'm here to tell you about is 1/0 (one over zero). In fact, its the first Featured Webcomic i've had in a few months now. And not for no reason, either. One Over Zero is simply some of the best characterization I have seen in a comic ever. This is something considering that a significant amount of the character developement of Tailsteak's characters is through conversations with himself. There is no 4th wall in One Over Zero. And its the most spectacular meta comic I have ever had the pleasure of reading.
I kid you not. I have gotten no work done for the last two days.

The first comic that One Over Zero reminded me of, of course, is No 4th Wall to Break, which is one of my favorite deviant comics. It was not chosen for its art, and the humor was so off kilter that I would hesitate to call it "funny," but it was so spectacularly written, blazingly random, and so unusual that it easily topped my list. No 4th Wall suffering significantly in its later strips with less-than-stellar punctuality from its author, who actually dropped the ball on two of the more recent characters in the strip.

In the midst of reading 1/0, it came to my attention that NO 4TH WALL IS UPDATING AGAIN!!!!! And Chris Whetstone is jumping at the strip with updated art, greater character developement, and some of that wackiness that permeantes the strip. Chris himself has yet to appear in the strip again, which i find disappointing as he is easily my favorite character in it. Of course, his infrequent visits only make the demand that much greater.
